Abstract:
Objective:To review the applications and research advances of electroencephalography (EEG) in the selection of flying candidates in order to improve the quality of medical selection of Air Force flying cadets.Literature resource and selection:The literature was collected from Wanfang Data, CNKI and PubMed dated from 1975 to 2019.Literature quotation:A total of 29 references were cited, including a guideline of American Air Force Waiver Guide, 23 English references and 5 Chinese references.Literature synthesis:EEG was widely used as a health screening test tool for flying personnel in many countries. However, its application value was still controversial. No definite evidence has been presented that EEG screening can improve aviation safety. The application of routine EEG screening in flying personnel varied from country to country, including the lack of unified standards on whether EEG screening conducted, the placement of EEG electrodes, the operation process of EEG examination and the interoperation of the examination result. Conclusions:The operation process of EEG screening for flying personnel should be standardized to ensure the quality of the medical selection of Chinese Air Force pilot candidates.
