Abstract:
Arrhythmia refers to abnormal heart rhythms or frequencies caused by disturbances in the origin and/or conduction of cardiac electrical activity. Arrhythmias are generally considered to be caused by organic heart disease, yet the etiology of some arrhythmias remains unknown. In recent years, extensive studies have focused on the role of cardiac autoantibodies in the pathogenesis and progression of arrhythmias. Cardiac autoantibodies targeting cardiac receptors and ion channels contribute to arrhythmogenesis by inducing cardiac structural remodeling and electrophysiological disturbances. Various arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, heart block, long QT syndrome, short QT syndrome, and Brugada syndrome, have been confirmed to be associated with autoantibodies. This article will provide a comprehensive summary of the latest research advancements and clinical implications of arrhythmia-related autoantibodies.
