Abstract:
Bones and muscles are anatomically connected and anatomically complementary. They interact through multiple pathways, including biomechanics and biochemical factors, to maintain the physiological metabolism of the human musculoskeletal system. Under physiological and pathological conditions such as aging and disease, the interactions between bones and muscles undergo various changes, which may lead to more severe pathological outcomes, often exhibiting a synergistic " 1+ 1>2" effect. This review summarizes the latest research progress on the mechanisms of musculoskeletal regulation and their mutual interactions, aiming to provide new insights for the clinical diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal comorbidities.
