Abstract:
Objective To investigate the current state of occupational exposure management in hospitals of varying levels in Chongqing,providing a basis for decision-making in occupational exposure management.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted across all public hospitals of different levels in the area,covering aspects such as the current situation of occupa-tional exposure management,drug reserves,infectious disease testing,tracking,and follow-up procedures.Results Grassroots hospitals showed deficiencies in infectious disease detection capabilities and the provision of preventive medication.Specifically,hospitals unable to conduct tests for AIDS,hepatitis B,hepatitis C,and syphilis accounted for 3.33% ,10.00% ,20.00% ,and 10.00% ,respectively.Only 23.33% and 6.67% of hospitals maintained long-term reserves of hepatitis B immunoglobulin and AIDS prophylactic drugs.Additionally,36.67% of hospitals had never stocked long-acting penicillin,and 30.00% had not es-tablished health management records for occupational exposure patients.Only 33.33% of hospitals had mandated all eight infec-tious disease tests for employees,with hospitals covering 80.00% of the costs for follow-up testing and treatment related to occu-pational exposure.Conclusion To strengthen occupational exposure management,medical institutions should enhance their ca-pabilities in infectious disease detection and drug reserves.Grassroots hospitals can adopt the"medical donor+medical consorti-um"model to facilitate the sharing of medical resources,which is beneficial for providing psychological counseling,infectious disease testing,and preventive medication.This model also supports medication evaluation for special exposure cases,particular-ly those involving unknown sources,exposure during pregnancy,and other unique occupational exposures.
