Abstract:
A 44-year-old female patient with chronic kidney disease (stage 5) undergoing peritoneal dialysis received an Ⅳ infusion of vancomycin 500 mg once per 12 hours for infective endocarditis.Vancomycin was discontinued before the third administration for its frequency of administration was found inappropriate. The blood concentration of vancomycin was higher than 50 mg/L at 12 hours after the second dose. The blood concentration of vancomycin dropped to 9.2 mg/L after drug withdrawal and persistent peritoneal dialysis for 24 days.No other obvious adverse reactions related to vancomycin during this period.
