Abstract:
Hydrogel is a type of polymer material that has been increasingly studied in the field of medical research due to its excellent biocompatibility, tunable mechanical properties, and drug delivery capabilities. In recent years, hydrogels have shown a wide range of application potentials in the treatment of urological surgical diseases. The research on hydrogels is gradually advancing in areas such as drug delivery within the bladder, treatment of incontinence and bladder vesicoureteral reflux, diagnostic and therapeutic applications for urological tumors, male reproduction, hemostasis in urological surgery, treatment of urolithiasis, tissue engineering for urethral defects and strictures, construction and coating applications of ureteral stent. At the same time, there are also some challenges that need to be addressed. This paper introduces the basic characteristics of hydrogel materials, and discussed the research progress of these materials in the diagnosis and treatment of urological diseases.
