Abstract:
Electronic cigarettes are a new type of tobacco products, the harm and addiction of which cannot be ignored. The comprehensive smoking history taking, including electronic cigarette use, is a primary evaluation skill for the clinical encounter and is conducive to developing a precise smoking quiting plan. This article expounds the prevalence of electronic cigarette use, the status quo on methods of history taking and dependence assessment for electronic cigarette use; and put forward suggestions of comprehensive history taking in the context of domestic market environment, including electronic cigarette parameters, avoiding information missing, adopting comprehensive methods and targeted counseling, in order to provide a reference for clinical smoking history taking.
