Abstract:
Objective To analyze the mortality of mental disorder patients, and the impact of mental disorder deaths on life lost in Wenzhou City, and provide scientific basis for mental disorder intervention measures. Methods With surveillance data of mental disorder deaths from 2010 to 2014, the distribution of mental disorder mortality in Wenzhou city was described. Chi-square test was used for comparison of relevant rates, years of potential life lost(YPLL) and average years of life lost(AYLL) were used to calculate the mental disorder deaths on life lost, and the rate was standardized with the direct method. Results The mental disorder death rate in males was higher than that in females(2.06/100 000:1.60/100 000;χ2=6.15,P<0.05),and the death rate in urban area was higher than that in rural area(2.30/100 000:1.72/100 000;χ2=24.90,P<0.05). Brain organic mental disorders had the highest death rate in mental disorder with the rate of 0.79/100 000.With 2 255.00 person years, YPLL in toxic mental disorders was higher than that of other mental disorders. Conclusions Male, elderly and urban populations in Wenzhou City have a relative higher mental disorder death rate. It is necessary to take effective measures for prevention and intervention.
