Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) combined with 0.025% ipratropium bromide inhalation in the treatment of the patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods Eighty patients with stable COPD treated in our hospital from January 2013 to September 2014 were selected for the study by random sampling method. With the knowledge of the patients and approval of the ethics committee, the patients were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, each consisting of 40 patients. The control group was given pure 0.025% ipratropium bromide inhalation therapy, while the study group received HBO combined with 0.025% ipratropium bromide inhalation. Results The levels of forced vital capacity (FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second (FEVI),forced expiratory flow between 25 and 75% of forced vital capacity (FEF25%-75%),peak expiratory flow (PEF) levels and partial pressure of oxygen in artery levels (PaO2) of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of side effects after treatment, when comparisons were made between the 2 groups [5.0% (2/40) 、0] (P > 0.05).Conclusions HBO combined with 0.025% ipratropium bromide inhalation was effective in the treatment of patients with stable COPD,with this reason,it was worth further clinical extension.
