Abstract:
Objective To investigate the psychological status of military personnel during the "Mission Harmony-2013",especially females,so as to provide rational intervention if required.Methods Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) were used to investigate the mental health of 71females and 75 males deployed during "Mission Harmony-2013".Results Incidence rates of anxiety among the females and males were 7.9% and 6.2% respectively,which was 2.0%.No significant differences could be noted in the occurrence of anxiety between the male and female at various stages of deployment.The incidence rates of depression in females and males were 4.2% and 4.0% respectively.No significant differences could be noted in the incidence of depression between males and females.Conclusions The females engaged in " Mission Harmony-2013" had relatively good psychological quality.There were no significant differences in the psychological status (anxiety and depression) between females and males at various stages of deployment.
