Abstract:
Objective To provide the scientific basis for the prevention and control of hypertension by analyzing the related risk factors for prolonging pilot's career. Methods Two thousand seven hundred and fifty-five pilots examined in 2013 were divided into different groups by age to compare the abnormal rate of blood pressure among groups.Such biochemical indicators as the prevalence of hyperglycemia and the hyperlipidemia were also analyzed for the comparison of normal blood pressure and hypertension. Results In 2 755 examined pilots, the cases of primary hypertension were 71 cases, and the prevalence rate was 2.58%.Prevalence of hypertension significantly increased with age (x2=64.704,P<0.01).Triglyceride (TG),fasting plasma glucose (FPG),body mass index (BMI) in hypertension group was significantly higher than that in normal blood pressure group (t=3.173-5.684,P<0.01).Conclusions Age,BMI,blood fat and blood sugar level are the significant risk factors of hypertension in civil aviation pilots.Prevention and control of the risk factors of the cardiovascular disease could be useful to restrict pilot's hypertension.
