Abstract: Autoimmune enteropathy (AIE) is an autoimmune disease with unclear pathophysiological mechanisms. It was more commonly observed in children but is increasingly diagnosed in adults. AIE is primarily characterized by chronic diarrhea, malabsorption and villous atrophy in the small intestine. Diagnosis is primarily based on pathological findings. Most patients respond well to corticosteroid therapy. This report presents a patient of AIE with diarrhea as the main symptom. After developing steroid dependence, the patient was switched to ustekinumab and achieved satisfactory therapeutic outcomes.
