Abstract:
Increased risk of colorectal cancer in patients with inflammatory bowel disease is a growing concern among clinicians. Gastrointestinal endoscopy plays an important role in the early detection of colorectal cancer and preneoplastic lesions. While the presence of mucosal inflammation and associated complications in patients with inflammatory bowel disease has made cancer detection become difficult. This review is intended to summarize the usefulness of chromoendoscopy and magnifying endoscopy in the surveillance of colorectal dysplasia and cancer in inflammatory bowel disease.
