Abstract:
Objective:To explore the application of the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) standardized handover form in hospital infection control in the digestive endoscopy unit. Methods:A convenience sampling method was used to select a total of 212 patients who underwent digestive endoscopy procedures at Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital from January 2021 to January 2023. A total of 109 patients treated from January to December 2021 were assigned to the control group and received routine handovers, while 103 patients treated from January 2022 to January 2023 were assigned to the observation group and received handovers using the SBAR standardized handover form. Postoperative infection incidences and disinfection compliance rates for endoscopic procedures (including endoscopes, sinks, disinfectants, and hand hygiene) were compared between the two groups. Results:The number of cases with postoperative gastrointestinal infections, upper respiratory tract infections, and urinary tract infections was lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The observation group also showed higher disinfection compliance rates for endoscopes, sinks, disinfectants, and hand hygiene compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The use of the SBAR standardized handover form has a positive effect on preventing hospital-acquired infections in the digestive endoscopy unit.
