Abstract:
Objective:To explore the impact of problematic support on self-management of elderly patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), so as to provide a theoretical basis for optimizing social support strategies. Methods:From February 2022 to December 2024, patients with CHF in Taizhou Hospital of Zhejiang Province were selected by convenience sampling method as study subjects. Patients were surveyed using the General Information Questionnaire, the Self-management Rating Scale for Patients with Heart Failure, and the Problematic Support Scale (PSS) .Results:A total of 509 questionnaires were distributed and 502 valid questionnaires were recovered, with a valid recovery rate of 98.62%. Among 502 CHF patients, the total score of the Self-management Rating Scale for Patients with Heart Failure was (85.69±12.66) and the mean of the items was (2.68±0.40), and the total score of the PSS was (32.52±4.40) and the mean of the items was (3.25±0.44). Hierarchical regression analysis showed that age, education level, personal monthly income, cardiac function classification, and problematic support were influencing factors of self-management in CHF patients ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The self-management of elderly patients with CHF needs to be improved, and there is a moderate level of problematic support. Problematic support undermines the self-management of elderly CHF patients, and it is recommended that support strategies be optimized to provide support that precisely matches patients' needs in order to enhance their self-management.
