Abstract:
Objective:To retrieve, evaluate, and summarize the best evidence on the management of fatigue symptom in adults with multiple sclerosis. Methods:Following the top-down principle of the "6S" pyramid model of evidence-based medicine, clinical decisions, guidelines, expert consensus, evidence summaries, best practices, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials on the management of fatigue symptom in adults with multiple sclerosis at home and abroad were systematically and comprehensively searched. The search period was from January 1, 2014 to November 6, 2024. Two researchers independently evaluated the literature and extracted data, and summarized the evidence in conjunction with professional opinions. Results:A total of 30 papers were included, including three clinical decisions, four guidelines, 22 systematic reviews, and one randomized controlled trial. A total of 25 pieces of best evidence were summarized from six aspects of assessment, psychosocial intervention, activity and rest, dietary intervention, complementary therapy, and health education. Conclusions:The evidence on fatigue management in adults with multiple sclerosis summarized in this study is practical and scientific, and provides a reference and basis for medical and nursing staff to carry out assessment, education and guidance on fatigue.
