Design and practice of "three-stage, four-point, three-whole" curriculum ideological and political teaching in surgical nursing

Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of the "three-stage, four-point, and three-whole" curriculum ideological and political teaching design in the curriculum ideological and political education of surgical nursing.Methods:Using the whole group sampling method, 148 students from three classes of high vocational nursing in the grade of 2021 in Guangdong Food and Drug Vocational College were selected as control group, and the traditional curriculum ideological and political teaching was applied. The 175 students in four classes of high vocational nursing in the grade of 2022 were selected as experimental group, and the "three-stage, four-point, and three-whole" curriculum ideological and political teaching design program was applied. At the end of the course, the final theoretical assessment scores of the two groups of students and their evaluation of the overall curriculum ideological and political teaching were compared. A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the satisfaction of the students in experimental group with the penetration of the 16 ideological and political elements.Results:The final theoretical assessment scores of the students in experimental and control groups were (81.79±8.61) and (79.45±10.20) , respectively, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05) . The evaluation scores of the students in experimental and control groups on the overall curriculum ideological and political teaching were (21.83±1.32) and (21.00±1.48) , respectively, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Students in experimental group rated > 4 points on their satisfaction with the penetration of the 15 ideological and political elements. Conclusions:Surgical nursing "three-stage, four-point, three-whole" ideological and political teaching design improves students' academic performance and satisfaction with curriculum ideological and political teaching in vocational colleges.
