Abstract:
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is often accompanied by extraintestinal manifestations, and the skin is one of the most commonly affected organs. The specific and reactive skin lesions usually have the similar pathogenesis as IBD. The appearance of rashes is often associated with active digestive tract diseases, indicating the requirement for more positive treatments, including the early usage of biology agents. This paper summarizes the common skin manifestations in IBD and drug-related rashes and the management principles in detail to provide a reference for both gastroenterologists and dermatologists in order to improve the understanding of the skin lesions associated with IBD and optimize the treatment.
