Abstract:
Objective To investigate the changes of serum leptin, blood glucose and blood lipid of the civil pilot with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and to discuss the risk factors of NAFLD and related prevention measures. Method Sixty pilots with NAFLD and 60 normal pilots were respectively selected as NAFLD and control group.Their body mass index (BMI),waist-to-hip ratio (WHR),blood pressure, blood lipid, fasting plasma glucose (FPG),triglyceride (TG),high density lipid-cholesterol (HDL-C) and serum leptin were tested and compared. Result The BMI,WHR,systolic/diastolic blood pressure,TG and serum leptin in NAFLD group were significantly higher than those in normal control group (t=4.62-12.20,P<0.01),FPG was higher than that in normal control group (t=2.63,P<0.05),the HDL-C in NAFLD group was significantly lower than that in normal control group (t=3.65,P<0.01).Serum leptin was positively correlated with TG and FPG (r=-0.72,0.82,P<0.05) and serum leptin was negatively correlated with HDL-C (r=-0.62,P<0.05). Conclusions Pilot's NAFLD is related with the obesity caused by unhealthy diet and less exercise and closely related with high level of leptin.More attention should be paid on prevention and treatment of the pilots with NAFLD so to ensure the health of pilots and flight safety.
