Abstract:
Objective:To explore the relationship between AIDS discrimination,attachment patterns,death anxietyand empathy among college students.Method:Totally 5 375 college students aged 18-25 years were recrui-ted.The Zelaya AIDS Discrimination Scale(ZADS),Relationship Questionnaire(RQ),Death Anxiety Scale(CT-DAS)and Interpersonal Response Index Scale(IRI)were used to evaluate AIDS discrimination,attachment type(including secure,dismissing,preoccupied and fearful),death anxiety and empathy level,respectively.Results:Lo-gistic regression analysis showed that male students[OR(95%CI):2.64(1.62-4.30)],fearful score[OR(95%CI):1.16(1.01-1.34)],CT-DAS score[OR(95%CI):1.04(1.01-1.06)]were risk factors for AIDS dis-crimination,and empathy score was a protective factor for AIDS discrimination[OR(95%CI):0.94(0.90-0.97)].Conclusion:Male college students,and those with higher fear attachment score,high death anxiety and low empathy ability have a higher risk of AIDS discrimination.
