Abstract:
Papillary neoplasms of breast are a group of heterogenous tumors characterized by epithelial hyperplasia and the formation of papillary structures containing fibrovascular axes.Their overlapping morphological and immuno-phenotypes pose a major challenge to pathological diagnosis,so the diagnosis and prognosis of papillary tumors have been the focus of debate.Furthermore, the use of molecular assays has revealed the genetic heterogeneity of the histo-logical subtypes and identified unique molecular variant features in each subtype. This article reviews the molecular ge-netic developments and clinicopathological characteristics of papillary breast tumors.
