Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of personalized nutritional support (PNS) combined with specialized nursing strategies in peritoneal dialysis patients with protein-energy wasting (PEW).Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 124 patients who underwent peritoneal dialysis at Shijingshan Hospital in Beijing from December 2022 to November 2024, among whom 64 patients who received routine nutrition management and nursing were included in the control group and 60 patients who received PNS and specialized nursing strategies were in the observation group. The nutritional status, water and sodium balance, patient compliance with the nutritional plan, and satisfaction with the nursing strategies were compared between these two groups before and after the interventions. Results:The serum albumin and prealbumin levels in the control group increased after intervention. In the observation group, body weight, body mass index, triceps skin-fold, albumin, prealbumin, and transferrin levels all increased after implementation and were significantly higher than those in the control group after intervention (all P<0.05). The 24-hour liquid intake, 24-hour urine output, serum sodium, and serum potassium levels in the observation group decreased significantly after intervention and were significantly lower than those in the control group after intervention (all P<0.05). The observation group showed better compliance with nutritional interventions and satisfaction with nursing strategies compared to the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusions:PNS plus specialized nursing strategies enhance nutritional status, fluid balance, and patient compliance and satisfaction in peritoneal dialysis patients with PEW.
