Abstract:
Objective:To explore different types of self-management in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema and their influencing factors based on potential profile analysis, and to provide reference for formulating targeted intervention measures. Methods:From January 2023 to August 2024, patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema who were hospitalized or revisited in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University were selected as the study objects by convenience sampling method. A cross-sectional survey was performed by the general data questionnaire, Breast Cancer-related Lymphedema Patient Self-management Scale, Self-management Efficacy Scale, Simplified Lymphedema Disease Perception Questionnaire, Family Support Scale and Social Support Rating Scale. Potential profiles of self-management in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema were analyzed, and ordered multiple Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of different categories. Results:A total of 260 questionnaires were distributed and 240 valid questionnaires were collected. The patients were all female, aged (51.42 ± 4.63) years old. The total self-management score of patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema was (41.57 ± 4.23). The results of potential profile analysis showed that self-management was divided into three categories: poor self-management-lack of Diet and exercise management (39.2%, 94/240), medium self-management-poor role management (33.3%, 80/240), good self-management-efficient emotional management (27.5%, 66/240). The results of ordered multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that education level, body mass index, habitation, self-management efficacy, disease perception, family support and social support were the influencing factors of self-management in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema ( OR values were 0.019-0.576, all P<0.05). Conclusions:There are obvious classification characteristics of self-management in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema. Nursing staff can formulate and implement targeted intervention strategies according to different classification characteristics, focusing on improving patients' self-management effectiveness and disease perception, establishing effective family and social support systems, and improving their self-management.
