- Abstract: Objective To explore the feasibility and efficacy of single-balloon enteroscope in the diagnosis and treatment of calculous small intestinal obstruction.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 16 patients who underwent endoscopic enterolith removal for small intestinal obstruction from July 2013 to December 2023.The outcomes of stone removal and therapeutic efficacy were evaluated.Results All the 16 patients successfully underwent single-balloon enteroscope.Among them,15 cases achieved successful stone extraction,while 1 case failed due to an oversized stone that could not pass through the pharyngoesophageal junction.The stone was subsequently pushed to the stomach and removed through surgical operation finally.Conclusion Single-balloon enteroscope has excellent efficacy in enterolith removal,with rapid postoperative recovery and less complications.It is worthy of widespread clinical application.
