Abstract:
Left atrial appendage is the most common site of thrombosis in patients with atrial fibrillation.Once the left atrial appendage thrombosis falls off,it will cause serious complications such as stroke and systemic embolism.Diabetes is not only an independent risk factor for atrial fibrillation,but also promotes left atrial appendicular dysfunction and thrombosis in patients with atrial fibrillation.In this article,we reviewed studies on left atrial appendicular function and thrombosis in the setting of diabetes by focusing the underlying mechanisms in order to define reliable evaluation and predictive indicators,as well as effective therapeutic targets.
