Abstract:
Turner syndrome (TS) is a common chromosomal anomaly affecting females, characterized primarily by premature ovarian failure and reduced fertility. The decline in fertility among TS patients is mainly due to abnormalities in the X chromosome, with varying degrees of ovarian reserve damage across different chromosomal karyotypes. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation has been widely used both domestically and internationally to preserve the fertility of women with TS. This article reviews the mechanisms underlying the decline in fertility in TS patients and the current application of ovarian tissue cryopreservation technology. Future efforts should focus on establishing standardized criteria for ovarian function assessment and conducting prospective studies to accurately select TS patients suitable for ovarian tissue cryopreservation, thereby optimizing outcomes for fertility preservation.
