Abstract:
Objective:To explore the cognition and feelings of the permanent residents in Guizhou toward the medical assistance policy, and to provide suggestions for promoting policy understanding and support. Methods:From October 2024 to December 2024,a questionnaire survey was conducted on a stratified sample of permanent residents in Guizhou, and a cognitive evaluation form was developed from three dimensions(including eligibility for medical assistance),and the perceptions and feelings of the population of recipients were also investigated. Results:About 70.24%of respondents heard about the policy for the first time, with an average awareness score of only 4.20;younger age, being a medical assistance recipient or having a family member as such, were positively correlated with correct cognitive scores(P<0.05);30.65%of the respondents felt unfair;among the 44 respondents with assistance status,10 and 12 people respectively had economic and psychological burdens. Conclusion:Guizhou permanent residents need to improve health security awareness and policy understanding. It is recommended to enhance their initiative in understanding policies, enhance community policy advocacy, standardize identification procedures for medical assistance, scientifically define medical assistance application conditions for impoverished patients and"emergencies",and regularly assess their psychological status.
