- Abstract: In October 2014,we conducted a community population-based cohort study on cognitive impairment in two villages in Huyi district of Xi'an.All the village residents aged 40 years and above received a face-to-face questionnaire survey and were followed up every two years for cognitive changes.In this special issue,we used this cohort data to explore the relationships between vascular risk factors and cognitive impairment,investigated the predictive value of plasma biomarkers for cognitive impairment,and the effects of vascular risk factors intervention on cognitive impairment.We believe these are important for comprehensively understanding the risk factors for cognitive impairment and guiding its prevention and treatment.
