A practical study on improving the quality of nursing care for surgical inpatients under DRG payment system

Abstract:
Objective This study aims to explore the practice of improving the quality of nursing care for surgical inpa-tients under DRG payment system.Methods A total of 202 surgical inpatients in our hospital from January 2024 to December 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group(101 cases)and an observation group(101 cases)using a random number table method.The control group implemented a routine payment system management,while the observation group implemen-ted a DRG payment system management based on medical quality drive.When the two groups of patients were discharged,the inci-dence of nosocomial infection,the quality of nursing services,cost and efficiency(average hospitalization medical expenses,aver-age length of hospital stay,timeliness rate of medical record writing),and nursing satisfaction were compared.Results During the hospitalization period,the incidence of nosocomial infection in the observation group(2.97％)was significantly lower than that in the control group(11.88％)(P＜0.05).At discharge,the scores of work efficiency quality,ward environment quality,basic nursing quality,and disinfection and isolation quality in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05);the average hospitalization medical expenses and average hospitalization time in the observation group were both lower than those in the control group;the rate of timely medical record writing in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).At discharge,the nursing satisfaction rate in the observation group(95.05％)was significantly higher than that in the control group(80.20％)(P＜0.05).Conclusion The DRG payment system driven by medical quality can significantly reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections in surgical inpatients,improve nursing quality,reduce medical costs,and increase patient satisfaction with nursing services by optimizing resource allocation and standardizing nursing pathways.
