Abstract:
The blood-brain barrier(BBB)plays a crucial role in maintaining the special microenvironment of brain tissue, which promotes the exchange of substances while separating the peripheral circulatory system from the brain parenchyma. However, normal aging and neurodegenerative diseases can alter and disrupt the physiological properties of the BBB.This review provides a brief introduction to the interrelationship and pathogenic mechanisms between Alzheimer's disease(AD)and BBB dysfunction, and explores current research status and BBB-targeted pharmacotherapy for AD,providing new ideas for the prevention and treatment of AD.
