Abstract:
Diabetic retinopathy(DR)has become a relative serious public health burden.Dietary modification can delay the progression of DM,and supplementation with essential dietary supplements before the development of DR may have a positive effect on delaying DR.Vitamin(Vit)are essential nutrients and many of them are used as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents to maintain the overall health.This article reviews recent studies on anti-inflammatory and antioxidant Vit and DR,discussing the relevance of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of Vit on the progression of DR.
