Abstract:
The immunoregulatory mechanisms of myeloid cells in the eye have become a research hotspot in recent years.By dynamically regulating the immune microenvironment, they play a key role in maintaining intraocular homeostasis and repairing pathological damage, while also participating in certain disease processes. This article reviews the mecha-nisms of action and potential therapeutic strategies of major myeloid cells(including dendritic cells,macrophages,micro-glia,neutrophils,and mast cells)in corneal and retinal diseases. It also explores the characteristics of neuroimmune inter-actions in the cornea and the role of microglia in maintaining retinal homeostasis.
