Abstract:
Ezrin is a crucial member of the ezrin-radixin-moesin protein family, serving as a vital connector between the actin cytoskeleton and the plasma membrane. Its primary post-translational modification occurs through phos-phorylation.Predominantly present in epithelial cells, ezrin has a wide range of biological functions. It plays a key role in maintaining cell morphology, participating in cell motility, regulating signal transduction, and influencing the mechanical properties of cells.Recently, numerous studies have demonstrated the involvement of ezrin in glucose and lipid metabo-lism,which are closely linked to the development of glucolipid metabolic diseases. This review evaluates the role of ezrin in glucose and lipid metabolism, discusses recent research progress, and outlines new directions for future studies.
