- Abstract: Osteoporotic fracture(OPF)is a type of fragility fracture secondary to osteoporosis,which is caused by the decrease of bone mass and the destruction of bone microstructure and the increase of bone fragility under the impact of low energy violence.Recent studies have found that oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathogenesis of OPF.Oxidative stress can regulate signaling pathways,cytokines and proteins related to bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs),osteoblasts and osteoclasts,while reducing the osteogenic differentiation ability of BMSCs,inhibiting the mineralization of osteoblasts and promoting the activation,proliferation and maturation of osteoclasts.The dynamic imbalance between bone resorption and bone formation disrupts bone remodeling and promotes the progression of OPF.Therefore,this article reviews research progress on the relationship between oxidative stress and osteoporotic fracture healing.
