Abstract:
Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection is associated with multiple gastrointestinal diseases. With the increase of Hp antibiotic resistance, its eradication rate has been declining year by year.Performing antibiotic resistance testing before eradication can enhance the eradication rate of Hp.Current antibiotic resistance testing encompasses phenotypic and genotypic approaches.Phenotypic resistance testing based on Hp culture requires invasive endoscopic biopsies, strict culture conditions, and extended incubation periods, while genotypic resistance testing based on gastric juice samples offers a simpler, faster, and more sensitive alternative. This article reviewed the advances in study on the detection of Hp infection and antibiotic resistance based on gastric juice samples, with the goal of identifying more practical and efficient diagnostic strategies.
