Abstract:
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a signal factor produced before embryo implantation. In recent years, the effects of hCG in the process of embryo development and implantation and maintaining of pregnancy in the field of assisted reproduction have been deeply studied and applied. Due to the increase in the number of embryos formed in the fresh cycle, the application of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), fertility preservation, and other technical demands, frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) has become an important part of assisted reproduction of humans. This paper reviews the current application of hCG in FET, including the application time, dosage, administration method, and pregnancy outcome of hCG in different FET protocols. Its application in women with thin endometrium and repeated failures of embryo implantation was also discussed. This paper also defines whether there are differences in the effects of hCG with different routes of administration and different sources of drugs.
