Association of peripheral blood inflammatory factors with type and severity of coronary heart disease

Abstract:
Objective:To observe the changes of peripheral blood inflammatory factors in different types of coronary heart disease(CHD),and explore their association with the type and severity of CHD.Methods:This retrospective study enrolled 255 patients who admitted in People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region between May 2021 and August 2022 and were diagnosed as CHD via coronary angiography(CAG),including 150 cases with acute myocardial infarction(AMI),55 cases with unstable angina pectoris(UAP)and 50 cases with stable angina pectoris(SAP),meanwhile 55 healthy subjects undergoing physical examination simultaneously were regarded as control group.According to CAG results,all patients were divided into single vessel coronary disease group(n=60),double vessel coronary disease group(n=102)and multi-vessel coronary disease group(n=93);according to Gensini score,AMI patients were divided into mild stenosis group(n=53),medium stenosis group(n=59)and severe ste-nosis group(n=38).Baseline data and peripheral blood inflammatory factors were compared among above-men-tioned groups.Results:There were significant difference in peripheral white blood cell count,neutrophil count,lymphocyte count,neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and C reactive protein(CRP)among CHD patients with different types and number of diseased vessels(P＜0.001 all).Pearson correlation analysis indicated that num-ber of diseased vessels and disease severity(Gensini score)were positively correlated with white blood cell count,neutrophil count,NLR and CRP levels(r=0.294～0.923,P＜0.001 all),and negatively correlated with lympho-cyte count(r=-0.693,-0.906,P＜0.001 all).Conclusion:Peripheral white blood cell count,neutrophil count,lymphocyte count,NLR and CRP are closely related to the type and severity of coronary heart disease.
