Abstract:
DNA polymerase δ-interacting protein 2(Poldip2)is a multifunctional protein originally described as a binding partner of the p50 subunit of DNA polymerase δ and proliferating cell nuclear antigen. It directly binds to NADPH oxidase 4 and plays an important role in reactive oxygen species production and cytoskeletal remodeling. It has been implicated in DNA replication,DNA damage repair, mitochondrial function, extracellular matrix regulation, cell cy-cle progression, focal adhesion turnover, and cell migration. This review summarizes the evidence and potential functions of Poldip2 in diverse diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, renal diseases, neurological dis-eases,cancers and endocrine diseases,to explore potential therapeutic targets for related diseases.
