Abstract:
Objective Analyze the operation of the online consultation services at internet-based hospital of A Hospital in Shantou.Provide a reference for the development of online diagnostic and treatment services in grassroots hospitals.Methods Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze the backend data of online consultations at Hospital A in Shantou City from 2020 to 2022.Results ①The online consultation services of Hospital A's Internet Hospital were predominantly used by female pa-tients,with the highest usage rate in the 21-40 age group(68.52%),and the lowest usage rate among patients aged 90-100(0.05%);②The most popular specialties were obstetrics and gynecology,nuclear medicine,gastroenterology,endocrinology,cardiology,respiratory and critical care medicine,infectious diseases,pediatrics,otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery,and family medicine;③The primary purpose of online consultations was to seek medical advice,accounting for the highest propor-tion(73.22%),followed by report review(16.06%),prescription refills(10.47%),and other reasons(0.26%);④ The consultation response rate was 83.89%,with only 2 553(16.11%)out of 15 846 consultations left unresponded;⑤Out of 11 322 recorded response times,the highest proportion of consultations had a waiting time greater than 90 minutes(54.84%),followed by those seen within ≤30 minutes(26.88%),then those seen between 30 minutes and 60 minutes(11.14%),and fi-nally those seen between 60 minutes and 90 minutes(7.14%).Conclusion The online consultations at Hospital A's Internet Hospital were mainly used by young females,with internal medicine being the predominant department.Online consultations have brought convenience to patients,but there is a need for further improvement in consultation waiting times to better serve patients.
