Abstract:
Gastric cancer ranks as the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality globally.Helicobacter pylori infection-negative gastric cancer(HPINGC),accounting for 0.42%-5.4%of all gastric cancer cases, has received limited research attention. In recent years, with the promotion of Helicobacter pylori eradication, the proportion of HPINGC in gastric cancer has shown a progressive rise, and the exploration of its pathological characteristics and pathogenesis has become an urgent issue to be solved.Based on its histopathological characteristics,HPINGC can be classified into five types:gastric adenocarcinoma of fundic gland type, gastric foveolar type adenocarcinoma, intestinal type adenocarcinoma, pure signet-ring cell carcinoma, and pyloric gland type adenocarcinoma. This article reviewed the advances in characteristics and pathogenesis of different types of HPINGC,offering new perspectives for further exploration of treatment strategies.
