Abstract:
Objective To explore the application value of ZOOMit diffusion weighted imaging(Z-DWI)for the evaluation of benign and malignant mediastinal tumors.Method A total of 65 patients with benign and malignant mediastinal tumors who underwent MRI examinations at some hospital were prospectively collected, who went through conventional diffusion weighted imaging(C-DWI)and Z-DWI scanning, with the apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)detected and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and contrast to noise ratio(CNR)calculated.Subjective scoring of image quality was performed using a double-blind method based on the Likert scale.SPSS 26.0 software was used for data analysis.Paired-samples t-test or independent-samples t-test was used to analyze the differences between C-DWI and Z-DWI,and the consistency of the results of the subjective and objective scores was analyzed with the intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC).Results The subjective and objective scores of the images by 2 observers were in strong agreement(ICC>0.6,P<0.001).The Z-DWI images had the scores of artifacts, display of anatomical details, clarity of lesions and image distortion higher than those of the C-DWI images, with the differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).The SNR and CNR of the Z-DWI images were higher while the ADC values lower than those of the C-DWI images, with the differences being statistically significant(all P<0.05).The ADC values of both C-DWI images and Z-DWI images were higher for benign tumors than for malignant tumors, and the ADC values of C-DWI images were higher than those of Z-DWI images in malignant tumors, with the differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Z-DWI imaging enhances the image quality for mediastinal tumor imaging effectively, and thus is of great clinical value for the evaluation of mediastinal tumors.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2025,46(8):67-71]
