Effect of the Bloom's taxonomy of cognitive domain combined with the Swiss cheese model on clinical nursing tutoring

Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the combined teaching value of the Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive Domain combined with the Swiss Cheese Model on clinical nursing tutoring.Methods A total of 52 nursing interns who studied in the respiratory department of Tonghua Central Hospital from January 2023 to December 2024 were randomly divided equally into two groups:A and B.Group A and B were treated with traditional clinical teaching methods and the Taxonomy of Cognitive Domain combined with the Swiss Cheese Model.At the end of the clinical teaching,both groups were assessed for theoretical knowledge,operation-al skills,and clinical thinking abilities,and survey with the same questionnaire.Results Group B showed significantly higher scores of theoretical knowledge assessment,operational skills assessment,and clinical thinking ability assessment compared to Group A.Additionally,Group B exhibited significantly better performances in classroom attention,learning interest,self-learning ability,clinical thinking,as well as a significantly higher satisfaction rate of clinical skill operations as well(P<0.05).Conclusion The Taxonomy of Cognitive Domain Combined with the Swiss Cheese Model enhances teaching efficiency and is well-received among nursing interns in clinical nursing tutoring.
