Abstract:
Coarctation of aorta (CoA) is a congenital heart defect characterized by localized narrowing of the aorta, for which timely prenatal diagnosis is crucial for improving prognosis. Currently, fetal echocardiography is the primary diagnostic modality for CoA; however, due to the unique features of fetal circulation and its dynamic developmental process, the diagnostic accuracy of any single ultrasonographic parameter remains limited. This review aims to summarize recent technological and research advances in the prenatal ultrasonographic diagnosis of CoA, including new insights beyond traditional ultrasound signs, emerging techniques, and the potential application of multiparameter prediction models alongside the supportive role of artificial intelligence, thereby providing a basis and direction for enhancing the diagnostic performance of prenatal ultrasound in detecting CoA.
