- Abstract: Objective To study the related key targets and main related signaling pathways of American ginseng in the treatment of acute liver injury by network pharmacology. Methods The main chemical components of American ginseng were found by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP)platform. The molecular formula of the components was obtained by Pubchem. The related target genes were obtained by SwissTargetPrediction, and the related targets of acute liver injury were collected by GeneCards database.Venny2.1 was used to obtain the intersection targets of drugs and diseases. The protein-protein interaction network was constructed by STRING online database and visualized by Cytoscape 3.7.1 software.GO functional enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were performed on the David website. Results Through data analysis, the research group obtained 10 effective components of American ginseng,330 drug-related targets,7 795 acute liver injury disease-related targets, and 291 drug-disease intersection targets. The treatment of acute liver injury by American ginseng mainly played a role through 216 biological processes, involving 30 cell compositions,44 molecular functions, and 116 signaling pathways. Conclusion American ginseng mainly treats acute liver injury by regulating key proteins such as mitogen-activated protein kinase 3(MAPK3),vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA),heat shock protein 90AA1(HSP90AA1),Caspase-3,signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3),and intervening PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, cancer pathway,MAPK signaling pathway and other signaling pathways.
