Abstract:
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), an advanced life support technology, has been increasingly applied in the treatment of critically ill pregnant and postpartum women in recent years. This article reviews the literature related to the application of ECMO in pregnant and postpartum women in recent years, with a focus on the key application points of ECMO in critical scenarios such as maternal acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), cardiac arrest, amniotic fluid embolism, and infection. By comprehensively analyzing multiple studies, this article aims to provide clinicians with a comprehensive understanding and guidance on the application of ECMO in pregnant and postpartum women.
