- Abstract: In recent years,an increasing amount of evidence has shown that intestinal flora disturbance plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of primary biliary cholangitis(PBC).Intestinal flora participates in the development and progression of PBC by modulating bile acid metabolism, affecting immune system functions, and mediating interactions within the gut-liver axis. This article summarizes the pathophysiological features of PBC,elaborates on the mechanism of action of intestinal flora in PBC,and analyzes the potential treatment strategies based on intestinal flora regulation,in order to provide new theoretical bases for the early diagnosis and precise treatment of PBC.
