Abstract:
Objective:To systematically review the published cases of Gorham disease involving the jaw bone,and to analyze its de-mographic,clinical characteristics and the factors that may affect its prognosis.Methods:PubMed,Wiley InterScience,Science Di-rect,CNKI and Wanfang databases were searched.The literature was strictly screened,the target cases were summarized and the data were statistically processed by using SPSS 22.0 software.Results:79 English literatures and 16 Chinese literatures were selected,and 103 target cases were obtained,including 62 males(60.19％)and 41 females(39.81％).The average age of the patients was 31.21±19.49 years.Most of the patients were aged between 18-45 years(44.66％).77(74.76％)of the subjects were with mandible involve-ment,9(8.74％)with maxilla and 17(16.50％)with both jaw bone.83 cases with requisite data were analyzed for prognosis by univariate and multivariate analysis.Treatment with surgery,medicine and bone-trasplatation respectively or in combination plays a positive role in the prognosis of the patients.Conclusion:Gorham disease is rare.Although the disease may be self-limited,early diagnosis and treat-ment may improve the prognosis.
