Abstract:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder in children. Its clinical symptoms are diverse and often remain lifelong, resulting in uncertainty in adult outcomes. So far, there are few studies on ASD in adults. However, most patients, in their adulthood, have a high incidence of mental health problems, poor work prospects, and poor social function, which are susceptible to a variety of factors. These are urgent to be solved in clinical practice. By summarizing the clinical characteristics of ASD in adults and analyzing its outcomes and influencing factors, this article helps to improve the understanding of ASD in medical workers and to provide a reference for the diagnosis, treatment, and outcome improvement of ASD.
