Abstract:
Through web-based survey methods, this study summarizes the practical experiences of Harvard Medical School in cross-cultural medical education. Harvard Medical School carries out cross-cultural medical education mainly in the following three aspects: offering courses on cross-cultural competence, implementing diverse programs and projects, and providing awards and resources. The practices embody a patient-centered educational philosophy, advocate a practice-oriented community service training approach, and emphasize immersive learning experiences. These highlight a balanced focus on both theory and practice. Domestic medical schools can learn from the educational philosophy and practical methods of Harvard Medical School to explore cross-cultural medical education paths with Chinese characteristics, which can enhance the cross-cultural medical competence of healthcare professionals for better constructing a Healthy China and building a global community of health for all.
