Abstract:
Depression is a long-term and recurrent mood disorder. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), as a noninvasive antidepressant therapy, has been fully confirmed regarding to its efficacy and safety. However, major limitations remain when utilizing TMS due to the difficulties of accurately locating the treatment target and prediction of the efficacy. To date, there are accumulating studies applying the MRI technic to target the treatment location and predict efficacy when using TMS in the treatment of depression. The aim of the paper is to summarize the progress of the application of TMS with MRI.
